Get ready for the new free series of Spanish storytelling sessions included in the Autumn 2024 program of PICNIC-Caminadores group! Starting October 11, families in the Friday PICNIC group will enjoy captivating stories in Spanish. This wonderful initiative is made possible through the collaboration of Kulttuurikeskus Ninho with the Ibero-American Embassies in Finland.
If you haven’t experienced the PICNIC community yet, this is your chance! Just drop by the Pasila Library and enjoy a fun reading session in Spanish while meeting other Spanish-speaking families and discovering the Helmet’s collection of Spanish children’s books.
PICNIC is a series of regular encounters for Spanish-speaking families with children in the Helsinki metropolitan area. These gatherings are designed to provide opportunities for meeting and peer support among newly-arrived families with young children.

Spanish Storytelling Sessions at Pasila Library
Don’t miss the Spanish storytelling sessions in Pasila, where our special storytellers will read fun stories from the Spanish children’s collection of Helmet.
🗓 Every Friday, from October 11 to November 22, in the Children’s section of the Pasila Library.
⏰ 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Recommended ages: Approximately 2 to 6 years. 🎟️ Free entrance. 📌 Kellosilta 9, 00520 Helsinki – Children’s section (1st floor – Green room).
The storytelling sessions will last about half an hour, starting usually from 4:30 pm, followed by the regular PICNIC encounter.

- 18.10 – Embassy of Argentina – Storytime by Ambassador Carlos Federico Mascias.
- 25.10 – Embassy of Chile – Storytime by Ambassador Belén Sapag Muñoz de la Peña.
- 1.11 – Embassy of Uruguay – Storytime by Ambassador Alejandra De Bellis.
- 8.11 – Embassy of Colombia – Storytime by Minister Counselor Mauricio Franco De Armas.
- 15.11 – Embassy of Peru – Storytime by Ambassador Pinto Bazurco.
- 22.11 – Embassy of Mexico – Storytime by Ambassador Enrique Rojo Stein.
And don’t forget that PICNIC-Bebés and PICNIC-Caminadores will continue until December at the Pasila Library (Children’s section – Green room).

29.10 – 10:30 am: Movements & dance session for parents and babies: Dance artist and member of the Spanish-speaking group PICNIC-Bebés, Mercedes Balarezo (EC), will share the movements and body games she practices with her baby.
